Malta-based iGaming content provider BGaming has reached another milestone in its European growth strategy after obtaining approval from the Swedish Gambling Authority (Spelinspektionen). The newly issued B2B license enables the company to deliver its certified games to licensed operators in Sweden for the first time.

With this regulatory clearance, Swedish casino players will soon be able to explore BGaming’s extensive portfolio, including well-known titles such as Merge Up and Aztec Clusters. The authorization also covers future releases, meaning the local market will gain immediate access to upcoming game launches.

First Entry Into Sweden’s Highly Regulated Market

The expansion into Sweden marks a significant advancement for BGaming, which continues to strengthen its presence across Europe. The Swedish gambling market is recognized for its rigorous player protection measures, strict compliance requirements, and a strong reputation for responsible gaming. It is also home to a range of respected and well-established operators, providing fertile ground for BGaming to broaden its audience.

Antanina Ivanova, BGaming’s Head of Legal & Compliance, emphasized the importance of this development: “Securing approval to enter Sweden marks a significant milestone for us in one of Europe’s most competitive markets. Our team is always working to ensure full compliance with the highest regulatory standards, and being granted entry into one of the industry’s toughest markets is a testament to this. We look forward to partnering with leading operators in Sweden and introducing our distinctive gaming experiences to local players for the first time.”

Portfolio Highlights: From Merge Up to Big Tuna Bonanza

While BGaming’s existing game library has already earned recognition in other European jurisdictions, Swedish players will now have direct access to its signature gameplay styles and features. Among the recent titles poised for release is Big Tuna Bonanza, which launched as the company’s first August release.

Big Tuna Bonanza builds on the popularity of the fishing slot genre, offering an upgraded visual presentation and an advanced math model. With a 5×4 grid setup, the game provides a higher-than-average RTP of 97.2% and potential payouts reaching up to x5,000 the initial stake.

The slot maintains familiar fishing mechanics, including a progressive Bonus game, retriggers, and accumulative prize features. Fish symbols each carry a cash value, requiring at least three matches on a payline to trigger a win. The Free Spins mode introduces a Wild symbol that collects the value of all Fish symbols on the grid. For every four Wilds collected, players receive an additional 10 spins, with multipliers increasing from x2 to x3, and eventually to x10.

Nikita Zavadsky, Custom Games Product Owner at BGaming, noted the timing of the release: “Fishing games have taken the online slot world by storm in recent years, and we’ve been waiting for the perfect time to get in on the action. Big Tuna Bonanza takes everything players love about fishing games and ups the ante. The game offers visually engaging action with a host of recognizable bonus features and big winning potential that goes beyond the usual genre titles. Standing out in a crowded field can be extremely difficult, but we believe we have managed to achieve that with Big Tuna Bonanza.”

Strengthening European Presence

The Swedish license adds to BGaming’s growing list of regulated market approvals, reinforcing its strategy to expand across multiple European jurisdictions. The company’s blend of compliance readiness and creative game development positions it to cater to diverse player preferences while meeting the regulatory demands of each market it enters.
